Founded in 2002, Storz and Bickel GmbH & Co. KG are the makers of the Volcano and Crafty vaporizers, among others. The first Volcano vaporizer entered the market in 2000 to the delight of experts. It was the first full-fledged herbal vaporizer. Scientists commenced studies on vaporization, and their Volcano advanced to become the "gold standard" and is still the preferred vaporizer in scientific studies.
